In 1967, young kibbutz members, including future author Amos Oz and editor Avraham Shapira, secretly recorded conversations with soldiers returning from the Six-Day War. These candid exchanges offered a revealing look at the soldiers’ experiences and emotions following the conflict. For years, the Israeli army kept these recordings classified, preventing public access to the unfiltered perspectives and raw realities captured in the intimate discussions. The release of these tapes provides a unique and poignant glimpse into a pivotal moment in Israeli history.
