Simon’s struggle unfolds across the stark northern Norwegian landscape. Born into a close‑knit community, his childhood is haunted by rumors. World War II brings Russian and American forces into the remote region, upending loyalties. Rumors and Norway’s shifting politics deny him reconciliation with his community and himself, and the fall of the Berlin Wall turns his life upside down once again.
