Another Thin Man

Nick, Nora, Nicky Jr., and Asta return to New York after a trip. The family is still adjusting from their travels as they receive an urgent call from Colonel MacFay, who manages Nora's assets.

Colonel MacFay insists that the Charles family visit his country house immediately. His frantic tone raises their apprehension, prompting them to pack their luggage hastily.

On their way to the mansion, Nick spots a dead body on the roadside. However, when he investigates the site, the body mysteriously disappears, heightening Nick and Nora's sense of unease.

Upon arriving, Colonel MacFay reveals his fear of being murdered by Phil Church, a former employee. His story suggests a man haunted by dreams predicting his demise.

That evening at dinner, the tension escalates as the swimming pool is mysteriously set on fire. Nick starts to reconsider MacFay's claims as dangerous incidents begin to plague the Colonel.

Nick decides to visit Phil Church, who has been expecting him. Phil explains that he was framed by MacFay and seeks revenge as he’s just been released from prison.

In a sudden turn of events, a gunshot is heard during the night, leading to an outage. By the time the lights return, Colonel MacFay is dead, under circumstances that align with Phil’s ominous predictions.

Asta, the family dog, discovers the murder weapon hidden away. However, he will only bring it to Nick, leading him into a dangerous chase that almost costs him his life.

Displeased by the police's questioning tactics, Nick and Nora choose to take the remaining residents of the MacFay household back to New York instead of cooperating further.

Days later, Nora investigates on her own and meets multiple men at a nightclub. Her findings lead to more clues as she continues to dig deeper into the case.

Nora's detective work leads her back to Nick, giving him contact information for Dum-Dum. When they finally meet Dum-Dum, he poses a threat while hiding vital information from Nick.

Nick investigates Linda Mills' apartment, where he finds evidence of a struggle. Just as he begins to uncover crucial information, he encounters gangsters intent on eliminating him.

Returning home, Nick and Nora find an unexpected gathering filled with ex-cons celebrating their son's first birthday. Amidst the chaos, Nick receives a dire threat from Phil Church.

After a series of events, Nick gathers all suspects back in their home to confront them. He uncovers that Lois is behind the murders and that she has been living a double life.

With the mystery solved and Nicky Jr. safely back, Nick and Nora finally find a moment of tranquility. They close the door on a turbulent chapter of their lives, ready to relax.
