Herbert, a dependable middle‑class engineer, abruptly quits his job and retreats to his home—mostly the bathroom—communicating little. His diligent wife, upset, watches him burst onto Sunday streets shouting “Get up!” She urges him to seek help at a clinic, but the film probes whether his withdrawal is a medical issue or a protest against a hyper‑ordered, routine‑driven society.
