College swimmer Chad Billingsley is the pride of his family. After denial, he tells his father, lawyer Roger, that Rosalie Frank—a waitress who vanished after his fraternity’s last party—had sex with five men. Roger tries to protect Chad from a rape case, confiding in his wife Karen, whose presence, like Rosalie’s mother Inez, leads to tragedy.
