Hanna overhears Sang-jun telling Ammy to be nice to her in order to keep using her voice, which deepens her humiliation. In despair, she attempts to take her own life. Her phone-sex client Kong-hak Lee interrupts the moment and persuades her to undergo extensive plastic surgery.

After a year of seclusion while recovering from surgery, Hanna becomes incredibly beautiful and slender, so much that her best friend Jung-min hardly recognizes her. With Jung-min's help, she reinvents herself as Jenny, a Korean-American from California, ready to start anew.

She re-auditions to be Ammy's secret vocalist and, through determination, earns her own recording contract. This marks the beginning of her ascent in the music industry under a new identity.

Ammy fears her own inability to sing will be exposed if the second album is delayed, so she begins searching for Hanna. She spends time with Hanna's father, who has Alzheimer's, in attempts to find Hanna, but Sang-jun orders her to give up, threatening to terminate her contract if she does not stop.

After numerous encounters with Jenny, Hanna and Jenny realize that Jenny is in fact Hanna. The deception starts to unravel as their history and performances reveal the truth.

Jenny's debut single 'Maria' becomes a hit, propelling Hanna into fame under her new identity. At the release party, Ammy brings Hanna's father in an attempt to blow Hanna's cover, prompting tension. Hanna ignores her father, infuriating Jung-min with her indifference.

After the party, Sang-jun tells Hanna that he knows who she is and cannot forgive her for lying. Hanna confesses her love for him and reveals she underwent plastic surgery to win his love, admitting the depth of her deception. She then decides he is not worth winning at such a cost.

Ammy threatens to reveal Hanna's deception unless Sang-jun cancels the upcoming concert, and Choi initially agrees to this plan. Sang-jun refuses to abandon Hanna, standing up to both Ammy and Choi and urging Hanna to perform the concert for herself rather than anyone else.

Before the performance, Hanna apologizes to Jung-min for how she treated her earlier and for her behavior toward her father. Jung-min rebukes Hanna for the way she handled her father, highlighting the cost of her choices.

Hanna takes the stage and publicly confesses that she was the ghost singer all along, and that she had been overweight and underwent plastic surgery to pursue fame. Sang-jun plays a tape of the original, obese Hanna singing, reminding the audience of the real person behind the transformation. The crowd is moved by her honesty and courage.

Hanna reconciles with her father and Jung-min, shedding the alias Jenny and embracing her own name. She also gains acceptance from the crowd and her peers as she embraces her true self and career.

Sang-jun realizes he has always been in love with Hanna and continues to promote her, hoping to pursue a relationship. Hanna and Sang-jun begin a new chapter with a genuine connection, free from deception.
