Fifty years separate two doomed assaults on a Bosnian ridge. In 1943 a Croatian unit tries to seize a strategic point from communist partisans, but supernatural forces intervene and the mission fails. Martin receives a silver cigarette case, which later binds his grandson Tomo, one of six soldiers in 1993, to the ridge and a fatal fate.
