Twenty years earlier, thieves John and Ron hid a stolen diamond in Gert’s football at the Old Castle Inn, owned by Marlène’s family, before being arrested. Now the escaped crooks demand the loot back, while a contractor plans to demolish the ruined inn and build apartments unless it’s repaired within a week. Marlène summons Gert, who abandons his holiday to restore the inn with help from Mayor Van Leemhuyzen and Octaaf, as Alberto rides through town trying to start his “flying barber” career.
